I think I may have to off the wife...

after spending a good amount of money and time and effort rebuilding the wife's 93 sl650, I just had her tell me today that she is taking over my virage and I can keep the 650 since "I worked so hard on it".

anyone want a good deal on a slightly used wife? trailer included!

edit: by the way, no way in hell she is getting the virage lol.

    You need a new plan...

Get that 650 running, and find a willing buyer for it come springtime.

In the meantime, tell her to come up with the money for a Virage or MSX 140 for herself

It can be amazing the difference in selling prices between a running machine (even an older model) in the May-June time frame, vs. the going price for a slightly non-running machine in the off season

The next Virage level machine might not be quite the $800 deal you found last time, but not so long ago these were changing hands for many thousands each.

Time to drop a BIG BORE with triple pipes into that SL hull and show her who's the boss!!! Or find yourself a nice Pro 785 and hang on!!!

meh I was not all that impressed with pro 785s that I saw in Utica...now the pro 1200 I got to ride definitely raised my eyebrows.

I literally have like 1 hour of ride time on the Virage...I am not quite ready to give up on it yet, it was tons of fun when I did get to ride it.

besides, going from a 650 to a virage was like a 100% horsepower increase and a 50% speed increase, I think the only thing that will satisfy the next step up would be a Yamaha FZR.

Then you just need to do something to make her want the 650 more! Things like reliability, consistency, and comfort. Above all, don't let it leave her stranded on the water!!! That would be the end of that! She needs to trust the machine!

Isn't that the truth! Sometimes it seems that you just can't win.
