Keep us posted on the build, never seen such a strange watercraft, the principle of a jetpack only limited to certain hight ,caused by the water intake hose.
    Nice fun toy!

If a guy had access to a machine shop, the jetpack looks to be reasonably simple to make. The hose looks to be a synthetic fabric collapsible industrial or marine grade of around 4" to 5". Not too hard to find.
I don't know why you couldn't run this off the back of any PWC, it just won't pull around backwards very well. It would sure reduce the investment if you had a dual-purpose PWC instead of a dedicated unit. Just switch the nozzles. Maybe strap a fiberglass "bow" section to the transom to help it pull backwards?

That'll be one long-a$$ed throttle cable, but you could look into fly-by-wire throttle controls so all you have is one electrical cable bundled with the water hose.

Post pix when you get to building!

you could easly clamp a rope to the none collapsable hose leaving some slack at the pump, so you can tow your ski in forward motion, as for the cable i'll use throttle cable instead of flyby and connect it to the thumb throttle so its easly removed to keep the ski usable on the day, there will be lanyard and start stop wires aswell, thanks for the interest, regards bill

well i'm getting board of drag racing this 2005 gtx ltd here in england no one has passed me, not even an rxp, so after seeing the jetlev and seeing that our seadoo's have enough power to make you levitate i'll have a go, i just hope the intake grate area is big enough and the prop pitch is ok, time will tell.

If you're bored, wouldn't it be easier to get a Superjet?
