    Lightened Flywheels

I have heard of the lightened flywheels, and with my recent decision to run a 785 CDI in my Sleeper project, I need to find a flywheel that works with the CDI anyways. What is the advantage to the lighter flywheel? Can I lighten one myself? Or will it turn into a grenade? Will it help my holeshot? Where do I find one? I see this as a feasible option for this ski!

The lighten flywheel were made by Hotseat I think,The are drawn alumium I think. They rev quicker, but fall quicker if the pump becomes loaded and unloaded. Xlint was running one. They show up on Flea-Bay sometimes. Someone on here may have one laying around. There was also Zero Loss systems around that didn't even charge the battery for race skis(No charging coils),you would just run a freash battery before each race.

I once had a machine shop lighten one for me on my 1100 yami. I know someone that had one lightened on his 1050. They said too much could cause it to come apart.

That's what I thought. Lighter flywheel = faster revs = faster holeshot. Thats what this machine is being built for. Anyone got an extra light flywheel lying aroung?

Watcon had some for sale on ebay a few weeks ago. I don't know if they sold, but give him a call at 360-692-3492.

    Rad had one

    Jetinetics made one

Accel had one (Jetinetics, just with Accel name)

MSD made the total loss system that included the aluminum flywheel.

Randy was selling a Rad and the Jetinetics. Like Star said, give him a call, I bet he still has one.

I sold a Rad a few weeks ago.

I think it definately helped rev quicker. I hear it's also suppose to lighten the load on the MAG crank bearings too.

Well, I dont want to go with the Total Loss system because I don't want the hassle of charging the battery every time I ride. But the Rad or the Jetinetics would be an option. I assume either works with the Pro 785 CDI, but not the 650 CDI correct?

They were listed for the 750-780, but they will work with the pro cdi.
