    s/c belt tension vs rpm?

dont have the measuring tool but from other threads about 1/4 turn by hand. so if the tension is to tight the ski will idle at lower rpm correct so if for eg ski A idles at 1300 rpm +/- 100 rpm (stock) and ski B idles at 1250 +/- 100 rpm, will ski B have a lower top end rpm and therefore lower top speed hope my question makes sense!

anything that runs off a crankshaft is going to have some sort of affect on rpm when you get down to the nitty gritty

i have recently noticed that my rpms r not where they used 2 b... after i took off my s/c plastic cover 2 discover rusty s/c dampener, i pulled it apart and gave a good clean and reassembled.... maybe s/c belt tension is too tight but gee the ski really pulls hard out of the hole.... raced a gp1300r 2 weeks ago and the guy was dumb founded at how fast the ski was... i have a stock ski with no mods....we had about 10 runs and every time my ski blitzed but top end rpms only at 7400 rpms... just a bit worried that the belt might SNAP!
