New Waterproff phone, Casio G'zOne Rock

I've been wanting a waterproof/rugged phone for some time. I always thought the Casio Boulder looked cool but it is discontinued. This new Rock looks pretty cool. Especially the compas, tide chart, thermometer, walking counter, and I'm guessing it's camera flash will work nicely as a flashlight when you don't have a real one available.

Anyone else thinking of getting this Verizon phone? I'm sure it won't mind riding in the glovebox of your ski without being in a ziplock bag.

FWIW, i have the original GzOne. 3 trips through the washer, 1 through the dryer, tossed in the ocean on a sandbar multiple times, thrown at high speeds (I throw upper 80s) at walls, dropped out of trucks, and slid around the boat. Still ticking. Looks like hell, but still ticking.

and yes the camera flashlight thing is a lifesaver.

Sounds like yours is living up to it's adevertized function.
I'm looking forward to finding out how the call quality is as I read that the Boulder's major flaw was in this area.

the boulder sucked. I bought one, and very soon changed back and reactivated my older Gzone. the signal sucked, sound, build was not as sturdy either.

i think Verizon carries this phone?
I might consider getting it, I'm fed up with my touch screen
and plus, I'm always out working or playing, so this touchphone
was not the best fit for me.

    ultramaxracing05,

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a voyager for verizon and have never liked the touch-screen.

I want a durable phone with buttons that I can see no-matter what the lighting conditions. I also want a flip phone so if I want to hang up with authority I can slam it closed rather than push "end" more firmly.
