I just got an interesting email from a customer of mine in the UAE. He had removed his mirrors a while back and placed stickers over the holes like i originally did. He said he always had a weird vibration in the hood area when riding. He put the mirror blockoff on and the vibration went away.

I had the same vibration. It looks like the mirrors are actually a fastening point for the inner hood liner and the hood. Putting the mirror blockoffs in place and bolting them down restores that fastening point. I can't wait to get back on the water and see if my vibration is gone.

    Jerry,

My vibration was coming from the gauge cluster...placed some 1/8" rubber adhesive cushions under the mounting lips and no more vibration! I used the automotive nylon push plugs for my mirror removal and never had a vibration issue.

Good tip Darrel. I have removed my stock cluster so i may be getting some vibration there also.

maybe you could have used some of the plastic you cut behind the 'fake' air vents to block the mirror hole? the color would then be spot on I guess

I think I'm the only one who actually likes the mirrors there.
