    2000 Polaris SLX

Just picked up one of these skis.

How well does everyone like it? Or what do you think about it?

how fast does it go on smooth water?

my friend has a 05 RXP s/c and his goes 70mph. im hoping to at least hang with him.

the only bad part is the MFD doesnt work. And yes the fuse is good.

Does anyone have one for sale? and yes it has a 12 pin connector, but not all wires are used. Why is that?

2000 slx is a great ski with a great motor. Hull is awesome. 60-63 mph stock is about all you will get. They came with 12 pin mfd's but a lot of them have 8 pin models with adapters. Your friends ski, is that 70 gps or speedo?
Enjoy the ski! The Polaris underworld strikes again!
    Pics please

Could you just tweak the impellor pitch a little so it's stronger on the high end?. i would think a 1200 has plenty of pull off the getgo. So if you sacrafice a little down low, no biggie. Light hull too!

Why did they go with 8-pin or 12 pin?. Whats the difference or benifit or isn't there any benifit and it was just a production change?

To get a 1200 to 70+ takes a lot. You will need pipes"tough to find"-200psi head-ported cases and jugs-cdi-and a lot more. Your looking at thousands and thousands. Hayabusa had to re-finance his home to get a pro 1200 that fast
Not sure why they went from 8 pin to 12pin mfd's but they only made the 12 pin ones for a year I believe.

The fuse can fool you. It has a plastic frame in it for a filiment about the size of a human hair. I can hardley tell the new ones from the burned out fuses. The plastic frame inside of the glass tube fooled me.

The 1200 SLX is a very fun ski...but a stock one will get dusted by an RXP, especially in the rough. You can get upper 60s with a single pipe..I've seen it done, but you will be hard pressed to hit 70+(even with triple pipes)...the hull has a hard time at those speeds, and likes to porpoise and unhook...Enjoy the SLX for what it is...a quick, nimble ski.

    Welcome to Green Hulk !

My 01 SLX turned 63.5 GPS on smooth water. Hold on tight on anything but smooth water.

Most factory equiped watercraft do 63-66 gps,you should have fun comparing the two.

im not looking to go 70 mph on it. I just was wondering if i would be able to at least stay around him. He doesnt go 70 everywhere on it. And the 70mph was whats shown on the guage. No gps sorry.

i work on cars for a living, i know how to test a fuse.

But i tore the MFD apart last night, and there is terrible corrosion inside. 3 of the wires were broke off the connector.

i stripped off all the wires and kinda put them into the connector on the ski, and it works. But the screen is too dim to see, so it looks like the wiring is good, just need a new MFD.

Is there any way to tell how many hours are on the ski? I bet i cant since the screen is too dim.

the ski looks just like bowsnipers.
