    virage 1200 perfomance mod ?s

    so say i was to buy a virage 1200 for hot rodding, would i buy a carb one or an fi one. secondly, who makes what to make it go faster? If you own a virage that has perf mods done to it, what are they and how good do they work? any answers are much apprciated. Thanks.

    If you buy a fuel injected machine, you can't mod it at all as you do not have access to the fuel and ignition maps in the EMM.

    Buy a carb ski if you want to hot rod it.

    Are you thinking of buying a Virage TX or TXi?

    How much speed are you looking for?

    Stock, from the factory, the Virage TX and Virage TXi are good for just over 60mph, give or take.

    Without modifying the engine, small additional speed increases are possible.

    Just how fast do you want to go?

    the reason i chose a virage is the hull is relatively light and cheap and they corner like a mf.(if you have a better suggestion just say so.) id love to see 70mph on top. im not as worried about the low end. as for $ id like to spend less than $4000 on the whole rig. i really new to this but i love to ride and dicker around with stuff. i am willing to learn too. thanks for your help

    If you want to go 70...it's gonna take more than $4k.

    4k

    4k is doable,used pipes,compression,porting,bigger carbs,more prop.stock porting and carbs has netted me 68mph.but that last 2 mph will be tough.

    You are forgetting...he needs a boat first so you have to add the cost of that in there as well...he said $4k for the whole rig. Finding a used one that's going 70 for $4k is going to be hard to find.

    I have over 4K in just my long block.Without intakes,carbs,head and E Box.

    And I know Lugs is over that on his Pro 1200 also.
