    Which one?

Okay, so I know this isn't "Non-PWC"...but I wasn't sure which forum to post in since this deals with so many pwc's.

I'm purchasing my first jet ski this weekend and after 3 weeks of research and shopping, I've narrowed it down to 4 choices...which do you all feel is the best deal?
    1. 2004 Polaris MSX Turbo ($2,000 no trailer).....concerned about issues posted on this site regarding constant maintenance problems.

    2. 2004 Yamaha XL700 ($2,000 with trailer)....will this be slow? or have enough power to tote myself, my wife and my daughter?

    3. 2000 Kawasaki 1100 STX DI ($2,000 no trailer)...again, this site doesn't seem thrilled at the reliability factor of Kawa's

    4. 1997 Sea Doo GTX ($1,800 with trailer)....only 2 hours reportedly on a factory rebuilt motor....is this a good thing or does this mean this PWC has been abused?

Okay...so there it is...I'm closing in on a decision...narrowed down the field from 15 to 4...these are the finalists.....okay judges, what's the choice?

I would go with #2. Based on the reliability factor. Its also a newer model so parts and upgrades should be easy to find.

Plenty of power for all of you,or to tow a tube.Good luck on your decision.

one vote for the 03 SD... simply bc it`s a 4 stroke. you should update that SC...

you have to take into consideration many variables when purchasing a used machine.
Your mechanical skill level to maintain the ski and look for or prevent issues.
Be able to judge the machine and look over the entire ski.
You would want to ride tests these ski`s.
Follow up with any threads/posts about any issues with whatever machine you choose...
Hours on ski, overall condition, what life expectancy you might have etc etc...

IMHO, I think the 700 is to small for 3 people, you would need to have 3 people on board to tow one person... you, spotter and tube rider.

as with any used machine ask for documentation or proof of it`s up-keep, and service issues or work performed under warranty.

just have a keen eye and beware of scammers, plenty of that going around...

good luck in choosing a ski!...

4 strokers seem to be getting a lot of love on this forum.
I'm going to take a look at a 2004 Yamaha FX cruiser this evening.

well only bc of simplicity and the way the ski`s are evolving...
I actually went back to the 2 smokes with the GPR. no regrets, other than most of my freinds are getting 4 strokes but hey that`s cool...

the FX is a nice ski!
