Cheap / Free mods for FXHO
Anyone know of any tweaks or cheap mods to improve acceleration on the FXHO ski's ? I read somewhere in another forum that someone modified the stock intake grate. I can't find it anymore and if I remember, they didn't state what they did, it was just asked to another rider if they had done the mod.

look around on here and see what everyone has been doing to their gpr's - im sure theres some basic information you might be able to apply to your fxHO
such as pump sealing and whatnot... just a thought

try filling ride plate and intake grate bolt holes with propoxy,
call Carl at island racing he can set you up with reasonable priced stuff that will get you started towards your goals

after droping my ski on the ramp accidently
it scraped the ride plate and grate
the ride plate cleaned up with just a light sand
but the grate had some deep scratches so i cleaned them up with a porting tool
at the same time i did a rough clean up of the casting marks
after that mod i was able to keep up with a couple of 15f's that i ride with
picked up about 1 mile an hour
so took the grate off again and cleaned the casting marks up fully(they were only left in the hard to get at places) that made no further diference
so a quick clean up of the casting marks is all that was needed in my case
hope this helps

the fall on the ramp may have also helped the ride plate angle
i do not have a standard undamaged one to compare so have no idea

PPK= Pump Plug Kit
Its for sealing the pump shoe...
Try Riva or R&D for a kit.

I've seen people use bondo to fill in the voids that the PPK is normally used for. It accomplishes the same thing. I cut my own Pump Plug pieces out of styro foam and used 3M 4200 to seal them into place. It cost me nothing since I'd already bought the 4200 for another project.
Free Flow tubes can be made from a length of 3 inch inner diameter PVC pipe.
You can ream out the center mounting hole on stock sponsons to step them and eliminate porposing.
Shimming yout ride plate with washers is dirt cheap.
These things are also free.
