    Newbie from Louisiana needs help

I have a 1996 SL 780 that im currently re-doing, fixing up, painting, etc. I want to know where do I shop for parts like: performance parts like UMI steering systems, graphics, sponsons, seats, seat covers, bumpers. I searched on here and google can't say I found much. Is it just me or is this stuff hard to find?

Also any tips on painting? Im doing a black and red scheme.

    Thanks in Advanced!

I have 2 seats from a pro 785. 1 is nice and the other needs recovering. Not sure if they will fit your ski. Ask the crew! There watching! Welcome to the hulk! Check the classifieds on here.
Painting/? Use either 1 stage polyurethane or 2 stage urethane for the top or gelcoat if you know what your doing with it. Gelcoat for the bottom!. Don't use paint, it will peel off from the abuse and sitting in water forever.
A lot of parts are available for most of the skis. some are parting out whole skis with tons of mods on them!. Graphics on ebay or a graphics shop. Bumpers? marine store.or garage sales! Some goodies are hard to find, but this site is the BEST for everything...parts, tech tips, how to's. These guys/gals are the best in the world in here!. Enjoy your stay!

It's not just the hump. he 97's had 3 latches (1 in the back of the seat, 2 more, one on the right and left hand sides in the front). I believe yours has the one latch in the rear with 2 tabs in the front. Not sure they will work.
Contact John Zigler on here, I'm sure he can hook you up. He's a great guy to deal with too.

Heed Pro Micks advise!, Wouldn't want you to get the wrong one that won't fit. Mine for a 2000 pro has 3 latches 1 in back and 2 up front. Usually they have just the 1 latch in the back. Yes mine has the hump in it, it's black and red. says K and W racing on the rear on the sides of it. Red has some black stains on it but its not ripped. I think it has some Racing type material on it for holding on as you take turns!. GoPRO!

Of course..lol Yeah I do remember them. right off van dyke area and hall rd. Boy, that seat has some serious shipping miles on it. let alone racing it! The black part is perfect on it. Just having a little trouble getting that ground in garage mold off the red. I got it half way done. I'll have to go to the marine store and get some mold n mildew spary for it. I love the way the seat "snaps!" on. thats sweet.

Get a close up shot of the underside of the seat. Then he will be able to see if it looks like his.

Some guys have had good results using the Mr Clean Magic Eraser

Wear gloves and work in a ventilated area, formaldehyde can be nasty stuff
