theoretical question, rfi on a 800r motor?
a theoretical question, has anyone attempted to put a seadoo rfi system on an 800r yamaha engine? i did a search, did not find any threads.
i guess the question is:
1. is it possible
2. does it make sense performance or reliability wise.

dude, just buy a 1200cc+ motor for around $1500 and put that 800cc in a dirt bike

Dude, Dave, Seriously, quit knocking on my idea.
if you question my interest to build a 800r gpr why don't you go question the following people:
why people would spend 8k's to put a 4 cycle engine in a gpr chassis, when a 1200r engine can be had for half the price?
why do people try to push an xl or xlt chassis to 70 mph+ when you can do it a lot cheaper in a gpr chassis?
The expenses and efforts people put into to put together a personal ski, there seems to be a lot of people here in the forum, that's why i am here.
why would i dish out $1500 for a 1200r engine, when i can modify an 800r engine i already have?
most of my mods are concentrated on the pump anyways, i tell you now, more money if not the same will be put into the pump, plate, tabs, intake grate, impeller than the engine.
if i can spend 700-800 buck on developing an 800r engine to the same power as a 1200r why would i want to spend $1500 to get an 1200r?
why can't i break the norm and try something different?
isn't building the ski the most enjoyable part of the process?
sure i can spend the money to buy a 1300r or something.. but what is the fun in that? not to mention i have already had one.
what's wrong with having a goal and a target for my ideas and try to accomplish that?
look around on the forum, that's what many people do. that's the whole point of it, to have fun and build something personal to me.
not just another 1200r.
and with the 1200r hull, if i manage to put the 800r in it.. i will still have the mounting locations for future upgrade to a 4 cycle engine if i wanted to.
and most of all, if i decide the project is no longer viable, i can sell all my parts and more than recoup all my costs.
so Dave, please stop putting down my idea.

Jeep - I'm not sure anybody knows the answer to your question, but it sounds like a good idea. Let us know if you find out anything.
