Now that the metal SC washers are in...

I want to put them in one of our boats, an '06 RXT- but... the stock charger has 100 hrs on it.

So my question is- how about the SC bearings and internals? How many hours of operation before they should be rebuilt? I know that a bearing failure can be worse than a clutch washer failure.

    So who has opinions?

Vman, i have seen plenty of superchargers with ovee 200 hours on them and no issues. I have seen plenty of bearings let go at 50 hours. Its a gamble either way. Me personally, i would rebuild the entire SC every 100 hours.

100 hours is a lot of time on those little bearings spinning at 50,000 RPM's

Yeah- I think I'm agreeing w/ your thinking here, Jerry. It just hurts having to spend the money for the rebuild kit as well...

I'm sure it's just a matter of time before Jerry makes an upgraded bearing kit lol...

The only one I trust to do it now is... me or... Shibby, but only if I watch the procedure over his shoulder.
