    Installing New Seat Cover

I ordered a new seat cover from hydroturf. Has anyone installed one themself, and how much trouble is it. I know I will need stainless steel staples. The last one I bought, I paid a upholstery shop to install it. I just dont want to pay them 75 bucks to do it again.

Just remember to leave the old cover in place,it's a one piece one and will prevent from water getting thru the stiching of the new seat and wetting the foam.

read somwhere to use "monel" staples which i believe are nickel plated. may be easier to find.
have 2 covers for our 785's, havent done them yet interested to hear how it goes on yours.
how about running the seat material thru a dryer at low heat to warm up?

I go down to the local upholstry shop and get 2 yards of naugahide for about $20. He usually has a color that matches (close enough for government work). I've also bought the kits and they cut it so close that it can sometimes be a pain to stretch if you are adding any foam.. but I never thought about heating it with the heat gun..

Can you use a single solid piece of marine grade vinyl to cover a seat or does it need to be fitted to the seat? I have a couple yards of black and just wondered if it would be possile to cover a seat without sewing. Not that I need to cover my seat, just curious.

YES, you can! Thats what the stretching / heat gun is for. I have never had to sew any jet ski seats.. just snowmobile seats with that big hump on the back.
