    Head bolts/gasket

I'm taking my head apart to change valves in a few weeks and i just want to make sure i have everything i need.

I know I need a new head gasket. Is the stock ok? I'm basically stock except an x charger.

I'm going to do the oil jet.

I need the rocker shaft bolts too.

Are the head bolts ok to reuse? This is the first time the head is coming off. Seems like the can be used again....

    am I missing something??

Gold is right and I will be changing mine when my head comes off this winter but..

Last time I was at my dealers and I know some of you dont like the dealers but mine is a real good guy and has always looked after me he said that they can be re-used as they have a measurment that must not be exeded if they are still under the max he will re-use them. FYI R88

Reuse them if its the first time they have been off they will def. be ok! Buy new ones if you strip down again.

Def reuse them...unless you got money to throw away...throw it my way then....

The stock head bolts are good to reuse if they are withing spec (check the manual for max stretch on them)
I have a set that are new for sale...but not in a bag's if you want new ones.

The stock head gasket is great...no issues there....DO NOT REUSE!!

Youll feel it when tightening if they need to be replaced (both the rocker bolts and head bolts). Both should be reusable once. The rocker bolts especially.
Since you will not be riding for five months or so, reuse them and see. If they need replacing, THEN replace them. Youre obviously in no rush. Unless, as stated above, you have money to throw around.

    Re: Head bolts/gasket

Well, I don't have the money to throw around, but If they need to be changed, I'll change em. Maybe I'll just buy 'em and if I don't need them, I'll return or sell them or something. Just so I have everything.

James you have it backwards. The head bolts can be reused once. It's the rocker bolts that the manual says "do not reuse" although many, including myself have reused them.
