Polar bear ride jan. 1st with Tampa club
Come out and ride with the Tampa Bay jet ski club New Years day. This is the 4th annual polar bear ride. We ride no matter what the weather is so come prepared. We will launch from Dunedin causeway and ride around clearwater, caladesi island and possibly Anclote. If you do not want to beach launch you may launch at the Seminole boat ramp just south of the Causeway in Clearwater. You can check out photos from past rides in our gallery on our webpage below. Hope to see you all out there. Ride begins at 11 am so you can sleep off the hangovers.

somehow I dont think it can be classified as polar bear when the water temp is in the 70s. Do that run in jersey.
Sounds like alot of fun tho. Do you need to be an AWA member to participate?

We always appreciate everyone helping out AWA but for this ride you don't have to be an active member.

Done this ride twice. A great way to start the New Year, riding with a great group of people.

Too bad I'm not in the area.

It's never too cold to ride
Sounds good to me and another reason not to drink too much on New Year's Eve. As another alternative, Sutherland Bayou boat ramp is closer than Seminole boat ramp. It's $6, the machine takes cash or CC if I remember correctly, and they have bathrooms there. Not much dock space so you have to get in and out pretty quickly.
If your coming from the south you also drive right past Molly Goodhead's on the way which always seems to call me in for some beers.
Can I drop some fuel off at the Causeway with someone so I don't have to truck all the way back to the boat ramp or is it best just to fuel up in Clearwater or across from the causeway when we need it? What do you guys usually do?

My ski will go 100 miles on a tank and my wife's is well beyond that so we usually just have to fill up. Some riders will strap and gas can on the back. If you want to drop off a can at the causeway it would be fine but we don't know when we will be back in the area. Why don't you just launch there? We have people to help if you need it.

Weather and water both in the 60's so it should be a great ride. Come on out and join us.
