    r&d vs riva plate

ok today i went out to test my new plate and my grate 800 that i bought at r&d. I used to have a riva plate with other mod i was doing on gps 71.5 solid passes. I put this two parts plate and grate put it on water gps at 68.3, ok i took it out put two washer on the front none on the back gps at 66.5, took it out put one washer on the back with the two on the front gps 69.5 ran like 5 times and dind't get any better also tuned the efi to see if i get more and nothing 69.5. OK take out went home get my old plate from riva put it back in with only one washer on each side and stay with my r&d 800 grate gps at 73.4 and solid passes like 4 times get this number. If any body that know about this could tell me why r&d is to difficult to see good number cause i got a friend that happen the same thing.

Did you grind the pump and nozzle so the plate clears because if you did not it does not matter how many washers you put up front you will not get any angle because it will be hitting the pump and nozzle.

That would be one thing I would buy to start with! Before you go any farther. If you are testing! Yes wrong plate angle or a plate shimmed down will cause drag. Talk to Jim about this He is the Plate man!
