    4 tech block issue

I got a problem. Was fixing to start reasembling my engine and i got a problem.
When I was pulling my short block apart i striped out one of the main bolts that are in the bottom of short block. Long story short i endend up having to drill off the head off the bolt. All that lis good but in doing that i messed up the threads on the block where the cap goes.

You guys got any reccomendations on how to go about re threading that and if so, where i can i find something that big? (It is M30 x 1.5)
Is this something a machine shop can fix?

What a freakin deal as got the time and everything to rebuild it and now i got this issue.

I dang sure hope I can use the bottom half or I am screwed.
If i am shot in the dark any one got a good bottom half of short block. LOL

I guess i could just get the cap up in there and weld the SOB on there, but then it would never be coming apart again. LOL

Is there any oil that sits in that valley or is that just a cap.

Steven did you mess up all threads or just the top few? If just the top few I would re-tap it, but it you had to drill the whole length of the screw to get it out. I would have a machine shop fix it!

Are you talking about the caps that screws in on the bottom IMO id get a shop to do it right. BUT if your in a hurry you could maybe JB weld it in then that way youcould get it back out if needed.

Austin, it is the cap threads and not the bolt threads. The bolt threads are fine.

Gotcha it looks like it is o-ring sealed as long as the threads are not fooked all the way around you should be able to chase them.

    Yes,

I will check with the shop that bored and washed my block before i try to buy a tap.
I am in no hurry, its only been since mud bug that my ski has been down. Another few days or weeks is not going to change anything.
In case some of you think I am crazy for being down that long I had the T-X to ride all summer.
