I'm gonna mooch of this post since i don't know the answer and ask my question. Can i do UMI bars (and switchboxes of course) and use the stock seadoo steering head? If so, would the stock steering head look corny? My plastic on my bars has seen better days and has since oxidized and all the pieces are gapped. All together they look like crap. I know the UMI steering setup complete is the way to go but financially is not the best idea.

While i t can be done, its really not safe.....there are two protutions from the stock steering that are used to mount the bumper pad in the center.....with UMI bars these two mounting posts would be QUITE dangerous....I know some trim them off, but you still have to leave a bit of them due to the design....

Best to save up & do the whole UMI system like I am.

I was lazy to go out and measure. they are 7/8's from what I can tell. I dont want to put on UMI bars. I am looking at these cool ass grips for motorcycles that I am hoping will fit. They are called ISO grips from a company : Kuryakyn.com chrome with flames to match my ski.

They won't work, remember on motorcycles one grip is bigger then the other due to the throttle unless you buy two sets and use the ones that fit on the let side of the bars...
