New BRP oil, alternative?
Our Sea-Doo distributor here in Thailand has discontinued the BRP 10w40 mineral oil which they used to sell us at 11$/quart (27$ for oem oil filter).
They are now pushing the new BRP 5w40 semi-synthetic at 18$/quart,
we are feeling a bit cheated after being told for all those years that using anything else than mineral would ruin our clutch and void our guarantee.
So we are looking for another source, I found this motorcycle oil,
it s made locally by Castrol, label says it s synthetic, 10w40, 4-stroke, JASO MA2, and it costs less than 4$/quart
Are we good to go?

If it's Jaso MA 2 then thats what you want, it may not have the corrosion additives that marine oil has but it will work. Jaso MA 2 is the best wet clutch rating available to keep the supercharger from slipping. I have a lot of people locally running Repsol Synthetic Jaso MA 2 API SM MOTORCYCLE OIL and it outperforms everything else we have run. Castrol should be close to it. Amsoil is JASO MA 2 as well.
