A couple questions regarding an 03 RXdi

First what is a good price for this ski with about 50hrs on it?

Second. I have been reading posts about some and there has been references to the 951 motor and how one might want to stay away from it for being a bear to diag and costly. I am being told this one has a 947 motor but i can't find much info on that. What can you tell me about a 947? Is the 951 in fact something to stay away from?

    Thank you.

there is nothing wrong with the 947 itself as long as you take care of it. keep the water out of the engine, check it regularly, I do know since its the Direct Injection model the parts are more expensive, and most are not compatible compared to a caburated 947, the 947 are great engines, and really powerful, nothing compares to its reliability, if you want a less expenive craft with same power i would recommend a XPL, its carburated and parts are cheaper.

unless you want a bigger couch go with the GSX,

I want something quick and fun for a single rider but also seats two.

is the 947 common in an 03 rxdi? he says it is a 1100cc engine. I keep reading posts and it seems like the rxdi's came with 950's. are they worse or better than each other?

    Thank you.

than if he is stating that you better of staying away from a lying seller. biggest 2 stroke engine on seadoo was and is 947 also known as the 951 unless it was bored to a 1050cc but thats the biggest they get. I dont think it was bored to 1050 it being fuel injected, 1050 are only on carb engines

the seadoo DI engines are 951, there is no such thing as a 1100 RXDI.
the DI is a dream engine when running well, starts perfect, AWESOME gas mileage,
    smooth strong acceleration...
but harder to diagnose and repair if theres problems, the 951 and 947 are basucally the same engine, the big thing to keep in mind is carbeurated VS DI , direct injection.
the rx is a bigger hull than the gsx, the gsx also came with a 951 (carb only)
the carb engines are easy to mod, but get less reliable when you do it. the DI is basically not modifiable. only mods are a level 1 from PPG.
rx will be a good 2 up ski, but a bit less nimble than a gsx, the gsx is more nimble, but tight for lots of 2 up riding...

for a noob, get a carburated engine. you dont want ppl ripping you off when it comes to repair the DI.

plus i seen some of the parts and its hella expensive.

I owned a 96 kawasaki 900 at one point and I really liked it so i've been looking for a 1100. This one was presented to me so I started considering but I don't like the expense it could lead to.
