Chrome is a VERY fast browser, but Mozilla Firefox is much better in terms of available add-ons, and overall web compatibility.

Some web sites look a little 'odd' when using Chrome.

Chrome is worth installing, just to experiment with.

For me, Firefox is the still the go-to browser.

    Then something else is wrong.

Crashes are unlikely to be caused by Firefox itself.

The usual suspects come to mind; viruses, worms, malware, Windows and/or driver issues...

Installing another browser may not help at all, if there is an underlying problem in the computer.

Uninstall Firefox, reboot, then re-install. See if it gets any better.

Sometimes Windows says one thing, but something else is actually the problem.

Download the latest version of Firefox.

Uninstall the current version, and reboot, before installing the newest version.

Have you manually run the Windows Update?
I normally use the 'Custom' mode of Windows Update, to make sure every pertinent update is actually installed.
