TBM Sponson Set - alum blades...?
I am looking for someone to mill or manufacturer a set of aluminum paddles (blades) for my 250X TBM Sponson Set...
Why - b/c the OEM blade is a hard plastic that gets 'dinged' and scratched from flotsam, sticks or trash in the water etc...
I am looking for something stronger such as alum...do not require anodizing...although that would be nice.
My idea is I would send vendor or machinist my OEM plastic paddles...then they would drill/ make new ones from a billet alum plate using the old as template.
Any machinists out there?
PS - I do not race...so no chance I would cut somebodys leg off during a race etc...as I think all paddles on sponson sets are plastic b/c it is asafey issue...or price issue for sure

nope race ones can be alloy
my race ones are alloy
they just have to be over 1/4 inch thick and no sharp edges
plastic is just cheaper to manufacture that is all
