Anybody ever get beat 0 to 60 mph by a boat?

Just curious ... doing a little posting on screamandfly.com and there is some debate about a hot jetski (80+ mph) versus a hot boat (mostly outboard tunnels). Every one I have ever raced from an idle, my ski just killed the boat and even if the boat could run over 100 mph, it took a long time to catch me.

Anybody ever have a different experience and raced a boat that crushed your ski from 0 to 60 or 0 to 80 mph?

That boat is the exception, not the rule. Most of the time it takes everything the boats got, that I have messed around with to catch me and my wife on our 72mph RXTX. Sometimes they dont catch us. And I consider my RXTX to be slow.

Never races a boat from a dead stop. Bounch of my friends have 80-100+mph scarabs, fountians, formulas... Once on plain it doesnt take long for them to catch up. But i also had a stock ski and not so flat water.

Little off topic but I had an airboat beat me from about 40 to 80 on my ski.
I was totaly shocked The dude was having to play the throttle cause he was spinning the prop like crazy. My buddy was on his 85+mph stage 3 ski and he hung with the boat but didd'nt beat it. Holeshot would be totaly different though. He would'nt doo that.

the ski in the video never moves there is no wake trail from it if it did leave, and yes i have raced a little checkmate with a 150 black max Merc and he could stay nose to tail with my ski, also was a bone stock RXT at the time 3 years ago. Since the greenwheel went in he had no chance and now with a mini rude and XS and ECU will never touch it.

The ski wasn't racing the drag boat. That's one of the "support" people.
I've yet to have a boat beat me in a standing start drag race. But, it could certainly happen under the right circumstances.

The boat in the video is a lower class top fuel boat. The top class of nitro methene fuel burning boats run Chrysler hemis. Their 0 to 60 times are less then one second--with eighth mile speeds at 160 or better and quarter mile speeds over 200 mph. These boats would hand ANY PWC their ass on a drag race. I used to hang around some guys with these boats back in the 1980s. The drivers are crazy--lol.

I've had airboats beat me to 90!!! May not get me on the digg but they catch up fast. Most are pretty slow by comparison.
