    Nujet vs Solas

I have a 00 1200 XLT and will be doing some mods this winter. Ride plate, intake grate, free flow exhaust, high compression heads, spark arrestors, and possibly some jetting. I am looking to go with a 13/19 solas, but I found a guy who is selling Nujet's pretty cheap. Can anyone tell me the pro's and con's of each or which they perfer for performance applications? Thanks!

Welcome to GH. The Nujet is a good "top end" prop for the 00'-04' GPR. It was never a good holeshot prop. You add the extra weight of the XLT, now your holeshot is terrible. Stick with the Solas.

I got a good hole shot and 65.7 with a 6.0 nujet ,the solas was best at 63.3

NuJets can be modified to be just as good out of the hole without affecting it's top end speed. But after the cost of buying one cheap and having it modified, the Solas would end up being cheaper.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the input. I'll stick with Solas.

The nujet also hits much better in the midrange. I ran a modified Nujet 6.5 last summer...while holeshot isn't quite as good as the Solas 14/20, its still acceptable. It gives a nice slingshot feeling when you "get on the pipe(s)". All of my races are from a roll anyway...

I am having my head done by groupk this winter. The guy said as long as I didn't put on aftermarket spark arrestors and/or reed stuffers that I wouldn't have to rejet. If I do decide to rejet, do you have a recommended size?

BTW, thanks for everyone's input. I am really glad I came across this forum.
