2-3" here on Lake Norman yesterday but it's 45* here now so it's going away (thank God!). They're really getting hammered in the northeast though.

Inches??? We measure snowfall in feet here in Canada!!!
But really, we don't get that much. I think 4-6 inches last snowfall. Its the unseasonably record lows that we had the last while that caught me totally off guard! The only place in the world that was colder than here those few days was some place in Siberia! And only by 1 degree! The North Pole was warmer than it was here... But it has warmed up again and lots of the snow has melted away. Only a couple inches left.

huh? I thought you guys up north measured things on the metric scale. No?

So, wouldn't it be meters and centimeters for your snow measurements?

Yeah...metric system...I still have to convert to inches and feet to understand anything! I guess I am old-school like that.

Canada started converting over to metric in 1970... some of the older people still use imperial.

At the family farm in WV they received over 30 inches and drifts of 4 feet and more.

Where I live in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, we saw snow...just enough to say "yep, that's snow". It barely turned the grass white!
