    Noob needing purchace advice

I have been looking around for a deal on 2 PWCs for me and my wife. I had set a limit of $6000. I know that is not much but thats all I have.

He's what I've come down to.....

    2 - 2000 SeaDoo GTXs with 140 hours each for $5800 or 2 - Yamahas (a 2001 xlt1200 with 60 hours and a 2000/1 Yamaha xl 800 with about 70 hours for $4000. Both sets come with trailers.

The SeaDoos look nicer and the xlt1200 has 4 inch crack at the very front tip.
I'm looking for your expert opinions. I've never own one so I figure you all would be a good place to start. Thanks in advance.

what's the kelly bluebook?that seems WAY WAY TOO HIGH for each, IMHO each ski is worth less than 1500 , i don't care what''mods' it may have.Is it a dealer or private?there trying the old"i go high you go low" tactic so he'll try to sell you the ski for 3000 like's he's doing you a favor

Kelly list the Sea Doos for $2945 ea and the Yamahas at $3800 for the xlt1200 and 3120 for the xl800 retail.
    These are both private sellers.

$5950 for the SeaDoos total asking $5800 down from $6500.
$$6920 for the Yamahas total asking $4000 firm.

Looks like to me that the Yamahas are the better deal. I don't have any idea how much the crack in the nose of the 1200 will cost to have fixed.

Never owned Sea-Poos & never want to.
Have a '98 Yamaha XL1200 with 200 hours on it and love it.
Price sounds great to me for our region, I think you're in Virginia, I'm in NC.
Make sure you get titles to both skis and the trailer.
You can fix the fiberglass yourself. Search here & PWCToday, you'll find loads of help.
You'll want to install some waveeater clips as a preventative measure.
Some folks have a problem w/cavitation on the 1200's, I haven't. If so, intake grate & pump seal kits will take care of that.
    Good luck!
