Thumbs up Important info for FX-SHO,FZR.FZS owners!

There is a bracket that attaches to the two top pump bolts on the pump and then to the hull. This bracket also has bolts that hold the rubber sound supression flap on too. Many of us have been removing this bracket and leaving it off when removing the rubber sound supression flap and pump. This brace needs to be kept on the pump! Since it was not on previous gpr style pumps most of us just left it off. If you are one of these folks that left it off (like I did), PUT IT BACK ON! This bracket also helps support the pump. This brace helps prevent too much flex on the transom/tunnel which may lead to a crack in the transom/tunnel. There was a post about the tunnel cracking on a fzr/fzs from Abu Dhabi, UAE a while back. http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=97158 I supect this came from this brace being removed when modifying the ski. I just wanted to be sure everyone is NOT leaving this off there ski. I have not cracked my tunnel yet and don't want too either. I wanted to post this info to help prevent future problems to all forum members , Tommy Jordan

Hmm...I will have to take a look at that this weekend. I hope I can find the brackets.

Thanks Tommy for the heads up.

The bracket is unique to the FZ's. The large top bracket holding the rubber flaps on the SHO doesn't bolt to the pump.

Without looking, I didn't think so. The flap does attach to the the top bracket and the pump, but there is no support bracket for the pump.

Good info Tommy. I have been running my ski without that bracket since day one. I might be reinstalling it

Just a idea for FX-SHO owners since this bracket only attaches to the hull and not to the pump why not fabricate a brace like the FZR/FZS has that will support the pump like they have now . After all there have been some tunnel cracking on some FX-SHO's in the past. Heck even the GPR'S might even benefit from some sort of support brace too! Tommy Jordan
