Prop Repair - What parts do I need???

While cleaning my RXT I noticed some problems around the prop. I'm not very familiar with the external propulsion system parts, so I'm hoping someone can help me identify what I'll need to purchase in order to repair this. From what I can see, there is a black rubber piece that is shredding. There is also a black ring of some sort that is now hanging loose on the drive shaft. I'd like to fix this stuff ASAP and do a wear ring swap.

    Thanks for the help!

Thats the nose cone for the impeller. They are black rubber and don't last long at all. They will walk up the shaft and cause cavitation.

You are better off replacing it with one of these

Definitely a good idea to swap your wear ring also

    Jerry,

Thanks for the info!! Will be ordering today. Before I place this order, are there any additional tools or parts I might need for this? Also, should I be ordering the long or short Impeller Removal Tool?

Either one will work, but the longer one makes some jobs that much easier, such as pitching prop, or removing prop with setback pump, etc.

You willl need a big size allen and cheater bar to break nut loose in pump. (I dont remember what size) It also helps to have access to a vice to put the prop tool in to loosen and tighten nut.

I can not think of any other special tools needed to remove the prop from the pump.

Your ski is not 09 is it?

    You're welcome!

I would go with Skoepp's recommendation and get the long impeller tool.

This thread will help you out

12mm, is it not? Jerry, this should be offered in the tool section of the store! "Impeller Removal Tool"

    Pump Support Missing Chunks?

You might want to replace your pump support.
