I just got my first gpr 1200 with 43.5 hrs on it,,i was planning on doing a bb 1390 with it but things have changed,,,this ski has a lot of bolt ons,, well i knew it had new cylinders but i just found out 3 days ago this ski has a completely new engine including carbs less than 6 hours ago,all of the work was done at turners yamaha in jacksonville florida,,,the new engine + the boltons was a whopping $7000.00 + dollars !!!!! now that i know this i really dont want to go destroy new cylinders to do a bb,,,,what can i do to this 1200 engine and what speeds could i achieve with it? the whole package,,,,porting, carbs everything,,,and leave it 1200cc`.jeff

not a bad start my friend. Sell the sponsons--step some stockers / sell the turbo stinger--find you a stock one / sell the pro-tec intake grate--get you a 1200 & 800 2 bar R&D intake grate (one of each) / sell the ride plate and get a R&D GP1200r ride plate. You can also use your stock sponsons "as is".

You'll need a pump seal kit, D-plate, free flow (since you have a 1200cc waterbox), Cat sensor chip. Prop??-- Depends i guess. You can upgrade your pump to a 2005/2006/2007 style pump with a Solas DF Prop.

There are lots of other options out there for you to choose from when it comes to Porting / Boring / Head Milling ect...

Several people do this kind of work, some others may want to chime in at this point before i cross the line and get shot.

Look at RX951s signature. He has a non-ported 1200. Also Shooter's 1200 was running pretty strong. Spud too.

You have tell us what type of riding you plan on doing. IMHO the GPR is the most tuneable PWC in the water right now.

    What do you want?

    Top speed drag racing
    Closed course /endurance
    Two up riding/cruising
    Rough water racing
    Wave jumping

Some components lend themselves better than do others in different situations. Pick out what you will do most often and we will help you get there.
