    reinstalling milled cylinder head

got my head back from lowell and ready to go:

1)bolts and threads cleaned and 1/16 ss washer added to bolt washer
2)mating cylinder surface scrapped and flush
3)gasket to be lightly brushed with marine grease (both sides)
4)using 6 headless bolts to equally line up cylinder/gasket/cyl. head
5)going to follow torque sequence -first 16lbs then 28lbs
6)its recommended no lock tight but i use the blue just a little
    7)retorque after first heat run

just wondering if i should either spray w40 and or put some 2 stroke oil and coat the piston/piston rings cyl. walls. The cyl. walls and piston have been covered with double plastic bag since head removal(6 wks)i'll vacuum the area before install just in case any particles might have got in.

    like to hear your input

You don't have to put anything on the head gasket but if you want to use something use copper spray.

as far as the cylinder walls i wouldn't worry about it. It was covered the whole time. Just install the head and start on your next project.

    just putting on a head...don't over-complicate it

I squirt some 2 stroke oil in cylinders and then turn over engine by hand. Wipe out excess oil and dirt that is held in cylinder by oil as pistons goes down.I feel better knowing I cleaned cylinders as best as I could.

Dave... I use synthetic marine grease on the gsket, washers on the bolts, 1 drop of blu loctite, I torq the head to 30#'s ( Yes I know spec is 27#'s thank you) I torq to 15#'s than 22#'s and then 30... Heat cycle the motor and check em... Dont over think it. NO COPPER SPRAY unless your reusing a gasket... And its not reccomended to do so although I and Im sure most on here have at 1 point or another

    my .2 cents
