    Heat exchanger question

Is this the heat exchanger that everyone is using?

You can get it in different configurations. I was thinking 3/4" female NPT fittings, since everything ive read indicates at the cooling lines are 3/4" thru-out the ski.

there to replace the stock HE / rideplate so you can keep the closed cooling but run a riva plate.

How are you guys running the water cooling lines, From the intercooler - heat ex - exhaust manifold? and would i need to increase water flow

Since the 4TEC skis use the ride plate as part of the cooling system, the HE's allow the motor to stay closed loop cooling while allowing the ride plate for a faster modified unit.

This setup, if desired, also allows conversion skis to run without having to switch over to open loop cooling.

thanks danny, I thought that what i needed.

Theres 2 setups one for a 30plate one for a 16plate. Danny did a brief write up on the difference here

Blue Thunder made a .pdf How-to that went into detail about installing it but i cant seem to find it.

Yea the routing for the 30 plate is IC-HX-waterbox

160-165 is considered the best temperature range for our motors, so I would say yes it would be a good idea to go with a 158 or 160 themostat.

What is the oil temp with the 160 thermo?
