Selling my ski and have a general sale question?
Hey guys, not sure exactly where to put this, but being the fact its a general sale question on a yamaha, I figured here was good. I am going to have to go to the dmv tomm, but would prefer to be a bit more educated.
I am selling my ski, and someone on the forum wants to pick it up. I seem to have lost my title and I can only assume it was when I moved. THe guy seems to be getting scared now that I might be pulling something, I dont know but I just lost the title.
I asked them this morning what I could do and from my understanding no matter what he has to file for a new one, and she suggested I file for a duplicate w/ transfer. This way he gets the title back in his name, and its like he is getting the title anyways. What do you guys think, I am sure many of you have maybe lost the title and sold your skis so I am wondering what route you went, please help me out?

No big deal Just go to your local DMV and for ten dollars you can get a duplicate title.

thats what i am worried about, I mean is their a way to do the sale without the title, like I found an application on line that is for title and one part and just be for a duplicate, or you can fill out duplicate w/ transfer?

YOU SURE the state it's being registered needs a title?in n.j. 12 ft or shorter needs no title, just:
bill of sale notorized with sig., D.L #s
copy of reg.
buyer assumes sales tax
the owner of a new pwc is given a cert. of origin which CAN BE USED
"IF" THAT STATE OF REG. REQUIRES A TITLE.

I recently "sold" my ski to my gf. Just get a duplicate at the tag agency and sign it off to the buyer. I went with her to the tag agency and they kept the title and sent her one in her name like 2 weeks later. Also use a bill of sale, I can e-mail you the one I used if you want.

Well looks like their might not be a hurry, guess me losing my title warrants a scare in the sale of my ski and the guy is having second thoughts. I have to get the title anyways so I am going to go over there anyways, but I am just a little frustrated b/c I think I spent my entire xmas night turning over my house and now nothing. Oh well thats life lol Thanx for your help guys, definately is still good to know so I can get this done for the next buyer.
