    Does your fuel valve have ON/OFF/RES or just ON/OFF like my 96' sl780? Mine doesn't have Reserve just limp mode when fuel is low.

    Im even more confused now

    Ive got 3 pipes to connect, one from the switch/ water sperator area, one pipe goes to link a vent point under the front edge of the seat and a pipe that goes to the engine area

    does this help??

    There should be markings on the top of the fuel tank fitting. They may be hard to see

    V = Vent hose
    R = Excess fuel return from carbs

    The third nipple is the fuel feed which connects to the fuel selector, water separator, and then the fuel pump inlet.

    The fuel feed nipple connects inside the tank and goes almost all the way to the bottom. If you blow air in, it will bubble up through the fuel.

    The return and vent connections are just open inside the top of the tank.

    Look carefully for the markings, and figure out which is the fuel feed nipple.

    I hope this helps you Cliffy. The hose on the left = RET, the center = RES and right = VENT. The one marked RES is the fuel feed.
