    driveshaft advice?

For those that have pulled out their driveshaft do you think using this one will cause any problems with seals where it is pitted?

It looks like where the seal goes in the back of the motor is smooth. As long as it dont leak where the ss sleve for the carbon ring sits. My 2 cents say it will be fine. I bet that was a b**ch to get out.

Thanks for the advice! Its a RXT driveshaft I got from UFO-RXT here on the forum to put in my GTX-SC with a Solas 14/19r that was leftover from my stage 1 RXP kit, I have been told that is the hot setup for a modded gtx.

I'd say it'll be fine as well but i'll tell you one thing, if you have an 03 GTX SC with the plastic pump your life will be hell with the wear ring. I just did the swap a few months ago and it's a pain in the ass with the plastic pump since it requires the use of set screws to hold the wear ring. The rxt wear ring is almost too thin to work with the screws.

I got this shaft from someone else and was going to put it on my GTX but sold that ski before I had a chance to use it.I didn't ask what caused the damage but felt it could be built up and machined down.It may be okay as it is.

i oughtta show u guys what a rusted digustig salt water drive shaft looks like, lol.... that driveshaft looks good to me... all the tell-tale grooves and critical points APPEAR to be ok from those photos...

u'll know real quick if there's a problem, she'll start sinking OR leaking oil out of the PTO...

Where the shaft goes into the PTO and Impeller was fine it was just gaulded where the carbon rings were. The pitting was probably caused from salt water.
