Welding upper case
Any thing I should be aware of with welding on a upper case. When I was cleaning it up I found a crack.
Sorry about the pic quality

Just make sure you preheat the area prior to welding the aluminum. It is important to prevent any welding cracks when the repair cools. Take a straight edge after the repair to ensure the mounting surface is still straight after the repair to make sure no warping or distortion has occurred. This should be a straightforward repair just from looking at the pics.
Also, make sure you clean the aluminum very well prior to the work. Use a stainless brush and acetone to clean everything. Clamp and secure your work well to the bench. Wear all your proper PPE.

also bolt the case halves together and torque to correct specs to help prevent any warping

you can preheat it with your oven or your tig torch
