    650 SX mod question

Has anybody here ever taken the stock flywheel off their ski and had it lightened by a local machine shop? Or did the lightening themselves? If so, where do you take the material off of and how much comes off?

I work in a machine shop so the lathe work is no problem for me. I was hoping to find out what surfaces have to be taken down such as the face or outside diameter wall thickness... and now that you mention it, how to balance it as well.

Once in a while you will see some lightened ones on ebay. If you could find one there just ask the seller how much it weighs. It looks like they just take material from the sides and the top. FWIW doing that will make your ski not idle as well.
