    I almost have A 785 motor.

Well, this is what I have to start with for a 785 motor build from scratch. I put my old 750 crank in there just for looks. I need pistons ,bore check, crank, diaphrams and covers for carbs.other stuff too I'm sure. gaskets..... ete.. but a start.

Should I go stock or go crazy? lol Sell the house, then use that money to rebuild it.lol Or I can get .34/lb for it at the scrap yard?

Its serial number is 97-00434.. is that a the 434th 97 motor built? the serial number is one the block close up in pic no. 2

In the last pic blown up, is that 2 pulse lines fitting underneath there? 1 has a red cap on it and on the other side theres 1 thats brown looking.

I'm getting one from lugs around Feb 1. These are just parts I won on an auction. And A GH member.

I guess if im gonna do it, i'll get an empty hull and just do the whole ski from scratch. I have seats, pissers, complete exhaust, pisser manifold with barb fittings, that engine so far, mounts, mfd, plate cover, steering cover, bilge, some electrical. hoses, pump, coils, stator I think. fast start switch, cdi parts, dump, steering cable.primer handle.carbs are ready for primer kit, couple, shield, driveshaft, nozzles, extention, mounting back plate for pump, gas tank sender, steering casting on pump, wedge, ride plate, few other things too.

I think lugs said i could have a hull. I'll have to ask.

    Still missing,crank,rods,pistons,boring,porting,gaskets, sealant,heads,water rail,flywheel, F/a"s, the right bolts! lol battery,fuel pump,stator again.lol exhaust valves,inserts for valves,exhaust manifolods and some other missing unknowns, fuel lines,gas tank,ete...

Maybe stuff all this into the SLT? like Beerdart did? hmmm. This would be a long time project.....But sweet when done!. Other projects come first...This will have to wait.

Took some pics of the cases close up. It's interesting, although I don't know whats happening exactly.. The Mag Journal area where the weights spin, have 1 little scuff mark on the case, the middle bottom case has some scuffing all the way around it and the Pto case bottom area has a little square patch area about 1/2 square.

What does this all mean? everything else looks ok. the grooves are good. edges and flats are ok. Was the crank bouncing in there?

Theres also ANOTHER pulse line fitting in the middle of the block. whats going on with that? it had 2 pulses, now 3.lol

Case looks rough, but its got a oil pump block off plate on it that you could use on another motor.

i ahve some hulls here, if you need. no Pro's though, sorry.

i have a nice SLX 780 hull, and a 99 SLX1050, if you could make either of those work. i am just over in WI, a little more than an hour north of chicago.

Ok. thanks John, i'll keep that in mind. I think after I clean the heads a little, i'll check them out closer. the pics show a lot of crud n dirt in them. I think there fine, just scratched a little, maybe run 2 carbs and plug the third hole.
