Thread: Computer/email question
01-06-2010, 06:33 PM #1
I've encountered a problem with my email that has stumped me for a few weeks now. For the record, I'm using windows vista, Google chrome, and gmail.
When one person (and only one person) sends me an attachment, I can not open it. All the "file names" are listed as "noname". When I attempt to open one, a window pops up asking me if I want to open it. If I click ok, it shows me a list of programs to open with. None of the programs will open the file. When I asked the sender about it, he states that my emails do the same thing on his end. I also have trouble viewing his attachments on my iphone as well. I'm thinking that it may be a gmail issue, but not too sure. Is there a setting that I need to change?
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Try a different browser like Firefox. Gmail usually handles attachments very well. I think it may be a conflict with Chrome.

Even with Firefox, I still have the problem. Thanks again for the help!
