XS Intercooler - I am an Idiot
Well after all the great info I learned on this site - I purchased an XS intercooler for my alreay stage 3 + rxp. Plus the Riva extended drive shaft kit hoping to bust 85. I was running 82+ with a rude 1, riva ecu, rear intake, RR intercooler. This is not my life but a golfers little hobby.
I live in Minneapolis - so this happens on a small time scale.
I did all the updates - my speed went down. I'm pissed. time for triage. Changed back to the stock pump, RR intercooler - speed back up. took the pump apart - full of water - bad front seal. Obiviously my speed loss. OOPS. NOT. I just checked the XS intercooler for leaks. Well ----- I didn't realize that the bracket attachment points on both sides of the intercooler go thru the intercooler into the boost area. I only used one of the attachment points - to the other 10mm bolt hole was wide open. If you use the XS intercooler - make sure the attatchment points are sealed.
I did test the JD open loop system and loved it. Thanks Dan. Under seat temps are so much cooler. I run the Mississippi for miles on end - flat water. Speeds were higher and more consistent.
So now - next summer - I get to retest the XS intercooler , the Riva Extended pump, and now the modified throttle body - (rossomo) and the Riva ride plate.
My apoligies to all those who test so well. I thought I was better than I am.
It will be a great year.

Ha, Ha, Ask sundance about his! That little hole takes about 1.5 lbs of boost out of your boat and around 2.5 mph. We know that for sure.
