I personally would never run a 1g Ic.. I bought a ski that had a locked motor. Upon inspection the IC core had exploded and the motor ingested water. The previous owner of the ski not knowing better left it sitting for 2 years full of salt water. You can imagine how it looked. The vortech IC's have been known to blow apart in mustangs for years on the street without salt water running through them. Why Riva used them still baffels me to this day.

I personally would never run a Gen 1 intercooler either.

One of my previous skis had a Gen1 fail.

I have the GEN 2 at the moment and seems to be going great.

I heard Seadoo have a 200hr warranty on these?

These are what come on the RXP-X from factory?

Im runnning a Gen 1 IC and have been for the last 3 years with no problem..The "Problem" with the gen 1 ICs as with most IC is the salt water..IF not cleaned and flushed the salt will eat away at the core causing leaks..Water pressure is also something that can and will cause these to leak..Theoreticaly you dont want any more than 14 PSI of water pressure going through theses IC..

Riva uses the OEM X model intercooler in their Gen II kits.

Seadoo has a 200 hour warranty on OE intercoolers as they are considered an emissions part, but this is only if you have an X model ski. Don't expect to put an X intercooler on your 2004 RXP and expect SD to cover it under warranty

Talk to Motec Pete. He did some dyno testing of different intercoolers and found the X intercooler to perform the best.

I would not run Gen 1. My 06 rxt had a Gen 1 and in fresh water after 30 hrs it leaked and bent a rod!

I think the water pressure is the main problem with the gen1 intercooler.

    +1 Fast,

I'm was running a Low Hours Riva Gen II with the OL System and the water pressure was the main reason/problem my Ic started leaking. I change to OL with HX.....Riva(BABA) stated the reason of water leakage was the restrictor size in the OL system to much water pressure going thru the IC. The bad part of this they did cover my GEN II Ic under warranty But Thats Cool....................
