    Hey Tenjuna,
How about a road trip to NC? Just kidding. I think the deal on that TXi you got in STL was a pretty sweet one. This ski looks awful nice for someone in that region.

I wonder what is wrong with it?

Engine damage, or just Ficht troubles?

If you can find out what the story is, we might be able to better guess what the problem cause is. Compression, symptoms when it first failed?

The 1165 engine cylinders are not Nikasil plated, just normal cylinder bores. Only the MSX 140 cylinders are Nikasil plated.

Mechanically the fuel injected engine and the carburetor engine are the same, other than the cylinder heads and intake throttle bodies. Same blocks, cranks, reeds, exhaust, pistons, etc.

Ficht issues - could be anything from a failed TPS or air temp sensor (circa $150 to replace) to a failed EMM. Sometimes it is a simple as incorrect spark plugs, or corroded grounding in the electrical system.

If the EMM needs repair, cost is about $600 to repair, or maybe $800-900 for a good used replacement EMM+injectors.

Sometimes the fuel pump pressure regulator falls out, and the resulting very low fuel pressure makes the engine run poorly, with surging and not much power. It can usually be fixed without buying any parts, just remove and repair the electric fuel pump.

Polaris PWC with fuel injected engines

How to repair Polaris Ficht fuel pump regulator
Symptom is very low fuel pressure, regulator has fallen off inside the pump

Well, if it was running properly before the mechanical failure of the engine, then it may be just a engine rebuild away from riding the waves again.
