    Polaris MSX150 O2 sensor. Help

Can some one help me and tell me
how to check the O2 sensors to see
of they still work right. The reason
is I bought the PWC a few days ago
and the guy had over filled the oil. I cleaned
the intercooler out and the hoses.
And cleaned off the sensors but
I read a post somewhere that if
oil gets on the sensors that they
    are toast. Is that correct?
    Thanks for all the help.

    Welcome to Green Hulk

There should be just 1 Oxygen sensor in the exhaust.
Has other sensors in the intake system,I'm not familiar with the MSX-150,but if you could get part #'s ,others here will be able to help.

    Welcome

Look through the MSX/Matrix section, and use the Search function. Lots of info posted regarding oil contamination on the Weber engines.

    Search for contamination

Also look at the link in my signature

    Sorry i meant intake sensors.
I think my problem is bigger
than that I just started it up
after cleaning intake and I have
oil mixed with water coming out
my exhaust to. Any ideas on that
    also?

Do some reading in the forums, as mentioned.

You know about the oil dipstick markings being misleading, and you are not filling the oil to the Full mark - correct?

Yes I do how to fill it. The guy before me
was the one that over filled it. And I have been
reading on this site for 3 days. I have learned
alot here but it is always nice to talk to
    someone that knows.

    Welcome Brad,

To save a lot time replace both bosch manifold sensors or borrow one that you know is good and do the substitute thing. I have had the experience of the top one in the pipe to the throttle body contaminated and even though I cleaned and dried it and it measured up OK (even tested it under pressure /vacuum) it would not work even though testing indicated it would.

You may only have one crook one but the only way to find out is to replace.

A crook O2 sensor will cause erratic idle, desperado taught me that if you unplug it it the ECU will default to a built in idle mixture setting. (a little slow to return to idle though)

    Cheers

I just checked the sensors and both read almost the same on my meter.
But they were low compared to the chart.
On air temp pins 1&4 I had 1.26
    3&4 I had 1.39
So i guess i am going to be on the hunt for some sensors. Unless someone
can explain why the readings are ok. Thanks for all the help.

AIR TEMP -- BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR
    (Air Temp: Pins 1 & 2) 2.5k
    Ω @68_F
    (Pressure: Pins 1 & 4) 2.4 -- 8.2 k
    Ω

    (Pressure: Pins 3 & 4) 3.4 -- 8.2 k
    Ω

    MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR
    (Pressure: Pins 1 & 4) 2.4 -- 8.2 k
    Ω

    (Pressure: Pins 3 & 4) 3.4 -- 8.2 kΩ

    Hi Brad,

Have the sensors been physically contaminated?

What are you running problems? Flashing light? Limited RPM?

If the sensors read the same and have not been contaminated they might be OK.

    Cheers
