Mate thinks GTI SE155 is better than FX SHO
I'm not one to disrespect peoples choice of ski or opinions, I'm a big believer in 'each to their own'. However a mate of mine is convinced the SeaDoo GTI SE155 is a better ski than the FX-SHO..... the weird thing is, he owns an FX SHO!!!
He thinks it handles better, better bottom end grunt, better for towing biscuits and would you believe "its got better fuel economy".... who buys a jet ski and worries about fuel consumption????
The GTI is stock.
He's seriously thinking about selling the Yami for the SeaDoo.... AAAhhhhhhhh
He won't listen to my advice, so help me, to help him from making a bad decision.

Tell him to put down the pipe...kidding. I doubt the gti has a better bottom end because the Yami 1800 is the torquiest engine I've ever seen in a PWC, even in the heavier SHO hull. I don't have any seat time on a gti, but I've heard they handle very well. Some of the CC race guys are running turbo GTI's & prefer them over the RXP hulls. The SHO hull is great for offshore riding, but it is fairly heavy so it doesn't feel as snappy as a smaller lighter ski. IMO, in stock form the SHO does feel a bit too heavy, but once you add a little power it's a whole different ski handling wise. Just tell him to do a few mods & he might change his mind.

They say when I ride the Yamaha's I make them look small...

If that's really how he feels, tell him to hurry up and get rid of it. He doesn't deserve a SHO. lol

Found this old vid. If you want a more nimble, frugal craft maybe...
Then again if you want a hot GT cruiser with serious potential (see rip'N tears build page) that'll get you laid then the SHO is your answer. Course I'm a little biased. Plus you have rear storage for easy access to yur brew... or an aux fuel tank. Buy a stand up or wakeboard if you want to play. My two cents

best thing to do would be to buy it off him cheep (he's the one who told you it's no good)
and then kick his arse every time you ride together
