gp1300r riva ride plate
hi every one i instaled riva plate pump shoe seal kit and when i put the plate up theres a big gap between the pump shoe and plate is that write???? i can see the rubbers in the shoe housing and the felt seal???

I'm a tad confused by the way you posted this.
The pump plug kit that goes into the shoe should be level (flush) with the mounting surface of the shoe. I made sure that the large triangular pieces were flush as well. If that is not the case, then you can wire wheel them and get them close, then sand them down to get it perfect.
It is extreemly critical to seal the mounting surfaces on the shoe, especially where the transom plate and shoe potentially will contact (the felt seal area and the whole back portion of the shoe). Use a high quality sealant such as 3M 5200, but if you use this stuff, make sure that the shoe is put on properly the first time. The shoe position is difficult to change once once the selant hardens.
There are some really good post if you do a search on pump plug kits. Look for a post with pictures.

hi sorry to confuse every one what i mean is the ride plate doesent fit tight against pump shoe and theres a gap you can see the felt seal and the rubbers????? is this write??? and the rideplate sits higher than the pump shoe???

i have the same and was told not to worry bout the gap as long as the ride plate is not below the pump.

tidy its higher than the pump shoe about half a centremetere not much ive sealed all around the rear of pump shoe now after looking and reading on ere where the felt seal is and the rubber seal out of the kit. thats what i was worried about you could see it. sorted thanks to every one that helped me out
