    Compression on a 94 sl650

    What is the compression supposed to be on a stock 94 sl650???

    Right around 120 like Lugs said. It can go up or down a little bit.

    You're really looking for consistantcey between the 3 cyls. Should be no more that 10% difference between any 2.

    Also remember that a cold engine will yield lower compression numbers VS warm, since the pistons haven't expanded.

    that's a little low, but not the worst I have seen, might need a top end refresh. What kind of gauge are you using, some gauges with a long hose can give less reading because of the volume in the hose

    Hows the battery...if it is a bit low it wont spin the crank fast enough to get an accurate reading...at least they are all about the same.

    Well its cold and the hose was a longer one i think with a good charge on the battery and if the outside temp gets warmer i think it it would read right? JMO ???

    i would say your alright it's probrably your gauge atleast they all read the same
