    What kinda animal is this? Spotted in Lake Havasu

    Mark and I were over at Havasu Landing on Saturday, and we spotted what looked like a Nutria(big rat), swimming in Lake Havasu.
    Neither one of us had ever seen something like this swimming in Lake Havasu, so, we want to know what you think it is;

    Looks like a nutria. Have not seen one around here in a while, IKE knocked the down pretty good but normally they are all over the place.

    Without seeing the tail can't be sure,
    but I say it's a Beaver...

    "As bold as that bobcat was, my favorite story is that of a beaver who became something of a park menace... to his amazement the beaver waddled onto the shore from the lake, and helped himself to one of the discarded limbs..."

    That's what I thought-Beaver.
    But, this was the best shot that I could get of it, and I had a pretty long lens. Mark was right next to me shooting also, so hopefully he will get a better shot.
    I've never heard of a Beaver, in Lake Havasu, ever!!!

    Doh!!

    That was the problem, we couldn't see the tail. This thing was a good 100' offshore.
    I've been to BWR before, never seen a Beaver. Pigs, Mules, and Ducks, we got......guess I'll have to look more closely.

    But, look at the pictures I found on the web;
    Nutria;

    Beaver;

    Tough one to call, but I'm going with Beaver.
