    will 800 cylinders work for bb?

    if doing a group-k bb 1390 on a 1200r will the gp800r cylinders work as a core?i have found several that are scored up,i could pick up really cheap,but can group-k use them on there 1390?thanks jeff

    no you don't want to use 800 cylinders for a GroupK single pipe set-up

    If you are running triples, it is my understanding that the port timing on the 800 cyl. is better than the 1200/1300 cyl. If you are running a single pipe then use the 1200/1300 cyls. Im sure the cyl gurus will chime in in a second or two.

    800 cylinders

    All I know is that my 66E BB (927cc) GroupK motor "rocks"! Granted...this is a twin pipe motor w/T/L in a carbon fiber hull.....but I can't imagine Harry or Gerhardt steering you away from using the 800 cylinders in a BB buildup! I bought their R&D cylinders and pistons for the 66E project they were doing. The only thing Harry told me was that in a single pipe set-up (stock pipe) the motor couldn't breathe. Let me tell you.... with twin pipes and the right ignition...the set-up rocks!

    isn't the exhaust port height (factory) on the GP800R cylinders different from a 12R or 13R??

    Yes, and a couple of the transfer ports are shaped differently as well.
