    VX rideplate rumours

When I heard about this it sounded pretty crazy to me. But I heard today that replacing the stock plate on an FZ with the one from a VX it can give speed gains of up to 3 mph in calm water , If anyone knows anything that can explain this crazy thing please give this boy some insight!

Its true. More people are trying it and reporting the gains. Apparently Yami may have been amploying the stock FZ plate to slow the ski down and meet the USCG 70mph crap. I ordered one but won't be able to try it till maybe march. The VX plate just has the needed angle to get the hull out of the water netting more speed.

Wouldn' it just be easier to mod the plate to get the proper angle for this to happen

I don't think the stock plate can be modded to the status of the VX plate. But anyway, by the time you have a lot of work done on the FZ plate you probably could have bought 2 VX plates for the price!

... and make sure you use an aftermarket intake grate if you are planning to use anything other than the stock FZR/FZS rideplate - this will prevent the ski from bucking on you

Can anyone speak to how the handling is affected with the VX plate on the fzr/s
I have one waiting to go on my ski and to my eye the plate looks shorter in length? Can anyone confirm this?
