if i remember correctly yes, i gave away one of my sponsons to a guy that had a 2005 rxp with a damaged sponson for free, so he can keep riding until his comes from the dealer. i was going to change mine also to the 2005 model since sometimes that top plastic piece comes off and the 2005 just looked better anyways and my dealer told me it should be a direct swap but went with the riva sponsons.

the 2005 up have inserts made into the hull that the bolts thread into and I'm thinking that the spacing is different enough that they won't fit 2004 hardware. The better sponsons was the first thing I noticed different when they had the proto 2005's at a FRS and a Sea Doo rep told me then that they wouldn't interchange.

bolt pattern is the same.... 04 uses studs with nuts.. 05+ uses the torx bolts... doesn't matter it'll work.

BUT! ... the depth of the 04 square part of the stud is deeper than 05+ .... therefore you need to deepen the indentation on the 05+ stock sponsons to make them fit on a 2004 machine...

time consuming, very very feasible, i've done it before.

PR... i jsut got home from nashville (helluva weekend!!) if u need more info or details on this u know my number, ring me tomorrow or during the week and we'll BS about sponsons
